Investment Opportunities

"Money can't buy you happiness, but it does
bring you a more pleasant form of misery."

Spike Milligan

Incubatees based at facilities run by the Edinburgh Technology Transfer Centre are widely regarded as some of the most promising early-stage technology companies in the world. With their roots in the world-leading research laboratories of the University of Edinburgh, many of these incubatees possess truly disruptive technologies. The productisation, positioning and exploitation of these technologies may be massive tasks, but the fundamentals exist amongst incubatees to power their growth into international world-leading companies.

In the current climate it is essential that technology companies take a pragmatic approach to investment. This ethos is pushed hard by the Edinburgh Technology Transfer Centre. Incubatees are encouraged to pursue customers, generate income and make profits. In doing so, they are able to sustain operations, perhaps even achieve organic growth, whilst pursuing investment rounds.

Of course, there is a recognition that to become international world-leading companies, incubatees will require investment. To that end, the Edinburgh Technology Transfer Centre produces a quarterly bulletin providing an insight into those incubatees that are seeking investment. Further, the Centre has established a number of heads-of-agreements and confidentiality undertakings with venture capitalists, business angel networks and private equity managers. These arrangements facilitate the rapid tarnsfer of relevant information on investment opportunities at the Centre.

Those interested in obtaining further information on investment opportunities amongst incubatees at the Edinburgh Technology Transfer Centre should contact the Incubation Manager, Grant Wheeler, on 0131 472 4700.
